FAA SMART/FMDS Compliance

2026 · live Sep 21, 2026·Program lead: stood the program up from zero

Led an airline's readiness for a new FAA data-sharing and flight-management program with a fixed regulatory go-live, delivered on the date while carrying the platform migration.

Challenge

A new FAA program arrived with a fixed regulatory deadline and no existing program structure inside the airline: no documentation, no tracking, no scoped workstreams.

Approach

  • Built the foundational program documentation and tracking structure from scratch.
  • Scoped the workstreams: FAA portal account provisioning, flight-plan filing integration with the flight planning system (NavBlue NFP), and a fleet-wide CPDLC/ACARS datalink equipage inventory.
  • Coordinated delivery across SRE/infrastructure, datalink engineering, and vendor contacts.

Outcome

  • Live on the regulatory date, September 21, 2026.
  • Program stood up from zero with clear workstreams and owners.

  • FAA SMART/FMDS
